~~ Mountain bike with knobbly tyres essential ~~

The early light is just right just before Daylight Savings begins, saddle up for a mountain bike and tarmac adventure – you will need a strong front light, and maybe one on your helmet too. Sunrise is at 5:35am. For those that missed the last one a few years back… get your mtb fix on the famed but rarely run Parra Pony.

The route takes us through the dark reaches of LCNP via Devlins Creek track, under the M2 at Epping and through the backwoods of Carlingford (Hunts Creek). I may need a little help with navigation through the back of The Kings School and thence to the Parramatta River for out eastward peregrinations on the bike path.

If we really hit the gas, we might by chance meet the Rhodes Roubaixers at Meadowbank’s “Machine Gun” Bridge before deviating via rough tracks around Concord Hospital and the horse paddocks of the Dame Edith Walker Estate. Then the usual inner west glory to your coffee shop of choice.
