Hi ERs,
With the spring classics underway - go Nibbles! - I turn my attention to the classic-est one-day classic in pro-cycling, the Paris-Roubaix. Wanna make a meal of it? Sunday 8th April from 8pm.
Dinner is in Turramurra, with traditional Belgian-style mussels on the menu to honour last year’s classy winner, Greg van Avermaet. Numbers are capped at 9 guests, the size of my dining table.
Rules are that you have to wear some sort of cycling accessory - cap, heritage jersey, mechanics’ apron, euro mullet - and bring something to eat and drink – perhaps a Euro cheese, the national beer of your predicted winner, tasty exotic snacks, wine even. You know what I mean.
Exact coordinates provided closer to the date, it has been a blast in the past, with Highlander snoring on the couch before they even hit the forest d’Arenburg. True story!
