Most excellent opportunity to enjoy the Sunrise and sample jolly bonhomie and whitty repartee with fellow riders.

Leave opposite Patt's 05:15 sharp, trundle eastwards via McCarrs Creek Road, thence down the coast arriving Manly before 07:00.

Then rip off our clothes and plunge into the freezing rollers and tangle with assorted aquatic wildlife.  1.5km return trip to Shelly Beach. The more hydrophobic clientele may omit this stage.

Anyone braving the waters, we should be out by 07:45 and the fast cat awaits  .... or cycle.

Seriously, I'm as soft as , and I've been doing without a wetsuite so far.
