What time is it Limpet?
Why it's Festive 500 time of course!
That time of the year to test your endurance and conquer 500 gruelling kms between 24th December and 31st December.
So are you in? Based on successful previous years, here follows a scientific formula to follow with us :
Day 1 : Dec 24 : 6:30am : Kurnell and possibly La Perouse (last year we included La Perouse). 122kms. Flat as a pancake. Home before your loved ones can say lovingly (as they are loved ones) "WHERE THE F*&K HAVE YOU BEEN?????". Meet top of Browns Waterhole.
Day 2 : Dec 26 : 7:00am : Summer Easterly. So easy you can do it blindfolded. Meet top of Browns Waterhole then ride to Strathfield to catch Covid to Katoomba. From there we travel 30kms to Springwood for Breakfast/coffee before continuing to Emu Plains/Windsor/Rouse Hill to catch Covid again back to Chatswood. 112kms
Day 3 : Dec 27 : A little break. Duffys (or similar). Just 44kms. Meet 7:30am opposite Pattos
Day 4 : Dec 28 : Camden Baby! Meet top of Browns Waterhole at 7:00am. Ride to Macquarie Uni and catch Covid to Norwest and join the M7 Cycleway to Prestons. It's then just 20kms to Camden to have breakfast/coffee at Camden's finest cafe. It will probably be closed but don't worry, Victa and I know a really shit one that we can go to. BYO Jack Hammer to plough through the Avocado that is similar to concrete. Mmmm, mmmmm, I can feel those broken teeth already. We return the same way. 134kms
Dec 29 : Rest Day. Relax.........take it easy. Back to the "chores" that our "loved ones" have bestowed upon us.
Day 5 : Dec 30 : The Grand Finale!!!! Newcastle. Finish it off in style! Meet 6:30am Hornsby Pool. We will travel to The Entrance via Peats Ridge where we will have breakfast/coffee. Only 60kms to go from this point and of course you will be rewarded for your fine effort with a pint of Guiness before catching Covid back to Hornsby.
